A disorganized bunch with a common interest in outdoor activities.
Welcome to the WSU Alpine Club. Our club is a diverse group of WSU students, faculty and staff, and Pullman area members, with a wide range of interests who love to be outdoors. We have members of all abilities, from expert to beginner, who practice mounaineering, rock climbing, and crosscountry and telemark skiing, all while enjoying the great nature that our area provides.
The WSU Alpine Club meets every Wednesday night at 7:00pm in CUB B1-5. The goal of our meetings is to introduce our club to new members, to provide an exchange of experiences and ideas, and to plan for future trips and activities.
Each semester, in coordination with the WSU ORC, we hold an outdoor beginning rock climbing class to introduce people to the sport. The class provides beginners with a strong base from which to enter into outdoor rock climbing. We also help sponsor events such as educational speakers, and the only free Best of Banff Film Festival in North America.
Each year the club make a traditional trip over Thanksgiving break to Red Rocks National Monument near LasVegas Nevada for rock climbing, and a trip to Lolo Pass, Idaho in January for crosscountry and telemark skiing, and ice climbing.
